ABOUT MONTAÑA 40, JARDINES DEL PEDREGAL DE SAN ANGEL, CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, MEXICO
By having all the front to Ladera Street, the project is in contact with important natural elements, from which are derived conditioning factors that were valued and integrated throughout the design process. The general approach for both houses is a linear scheme that consists of opening windows strategically to obtain the best of the central space without sacrificing privacy in intimate spaces.
The rear façade works in reverse and integrates the interiors with the garden and terraces through wide openings, thus generating a physical and visual expansion of all living areas. With the back garden as the central design element, the spatial sequence is articulated to discover green visuals from each environment. It also includes gestures such as double height, interior gardens, neutral materials and sober details that contrast with the natural context.
In all the levels of the house, each of the spaces has different degrees of relationship with the laurels, jacarandas and pre-existing tepozanes, whose constant changes are reflected in the shadows projected by the passage of the sun throughout the day.
